Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

On July 5, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul, together with the Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency, will sign a memorandum of understanding between the two agencies to strengthen the system for cooperation in the protection of overseas Koreans.

This MOU includes substantive cooperation such as installing a hotline between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korean National Police Agency and establishing a joint government prompt response team.

Through this signing ceremony, the Foreign Minister and the Commissioner General will encourage members of the joint government prompt response team led by both agencies that will be dispatched during the Paris Olympics.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korean National Police Agency will continue to do their best to ensure the safety of Korean nationals visiting abroad.
